How did film and photography change fine art painting?

From the invention of film and photography to today, new technologies have influenced how we perceive painting.

Aesthetic changes in art throughout history are often associated with advancements or innovations that occur during specific times – such as when painters transitioned from using oil paint on canvas to watercolor paints on paper. The introduction of cameras led many artists who were previously limited by their lack of access to a camera (due either because they could not afford one or simply had no knowledge) now being able produce realistic images through sketches which would then be copied onto canvases pre-painted with oils; this is why so much artwork that you see at museums today has those thick black outlines around figures etc.

In your opinion, what makes photography an art?

Photography is an art because it takes a creative eye and the ability to capture beauty. From candid shots, posed portraits, or breathtaking landscapes- photography has something for everyone.

Photography is both art and science. A skilled photographer knows when to use the camera’s features for capturing an image, such as shutter speed or aperture size. They also know which settings will produce a more interesting photo than others ̶ such as depth of field, perspective distortion, etc. The composition in some photos can be traced back hundreds or even thousands of years before modern cameras were invented!

How has digital photography changed the perception of photography as a fine art?

Digital photography has changed the perception of traditional fine art. Digital cameras allow for instant gratification, so much so that now people often take photos before they are even sure what to do with them. This phenomenon can be seen in social media posts and selfies on Snapchat where moments become memories instantly instead of a work or progression over time as was once customary

The use of digital technology has revolutionized the way we view photographs today; it is not uncommon for someone who takes a photo without knowing why to upload it straight onto their Instagram account from their phone – this instantaneous reaction goes against everything traditionally considered “fine art.”

How does technology affect art?

The discussion of whether technology is good or bad for art has been going on since the introduction of this new tool. Some say that it reduces creativity but others claim there’s no such thing as originality anymore with so many digital copies floating around online. There are even those who argue that machines deserve credit because they have replaced a lot of human labor when creating images and music, which frees up time to create more! I’m sure you’ve heard about Google DeepMind where artificial intelligence can produce photos in its own style? It works by analyzing lots and lots (and LOTS) pictures until eventually an algorithm begins to identify specific features like shapes, colors, textures etc.,

Why is painting considered art?

Fine art is not about the status of an artwork; what matters is its undeniable Fine Art quality.
