Hotel Photography: Best Tips, Ideas, and Examples

As a travel blogger, I have traveled to a lot of places in the world and photographed them. I have also taken photos of hotels from different countries in the world.

I have seen some amazing photographs that are taken by different people, but most of them do not know about the best tips and ideas for taking great pictures of hotels.

So here are some tips that will help you take amazing photographs of hotels:

Get help from the hotel staff

The first thing that you need to do is understand what your main focus is going to be. If you want to take pictures of the room interior then it’s better to ask for help from the hotel staff. They will tell you which angle is better and what would look good in those angles. And if you want to take pictures of other things like outside or garden then they can tell you how far away should be kept from those things while taking photographs.

Take multiple shots with different settings

It is always better to take multiple shots with different settings as there are chances that one picture might not turn out as good as expected due to various reasons such as lighting or wrong angle etc., so it’s better always try many times until you are satisfied with the result.

Use natural light

Natural light is the best way to capture the essence of your hotel. However, you should not be afraid of using artificial light as well. You can use it to create different moods and add depth to your photos. If you want to give your photos a professional look, you can use a tripod so that they are all in focus.

Take photos from above

It is always advisable to take photos from above as most people will not be able to see them from below, especially when they are on social media platforms such as Facebook or Instagram where most people scroll down their feeds instead of scrolling left-to-right. This will help you get more views and increase your brand’s exposure.

Work with a good camera

If possible, hire someone who has a good eye for photography as this person will know how to capture every angle of your hotel beautifully without any hassle or confusion. This person can also help you choose the right kind of equipment that will help you get high-quality images without much effort on your part.

Use a Tripod

Use a tripod to take your pictures. This will help you keep the camera steady, which is important for getting good shots. The best way to ensure that your photographs come out great is by taking them slowly and carefully.

Include People in Your Shots

Hotels are places where people go to relax and unwind from their busy lives, so this is an excellent place to include people in your photographs! Take pictures of people enjoying the hotel’s facilities and services, or even just sitting by the pool or on their balcony. This will make your hotel look more like a place where guests want to stay, rather than just another building with rooms for rent.

Take Photos From Different Angles

Take photos from different angles whenever possible! Try using different perspectives when shooting inside hotels as well as outside them — this will give your photos more variety and interest! Another great tip is to try taking some pictures from above, such as from an elevator or rooftop bar at sunset or sunrise if there’s one available at your hotel (if not, try asking if one could be installed).
